Matthew Granite
In Memoriam Founding Partner
Matthew John Granite was born in Oswego, New York and spent many years in Elkton, Maryland before moving to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania where he attended Cumberland Valley High School. He went on to graduate from Dickinson College in Carlisle, where he focused on economics and finance.
Matt spent 25+ years dedicated to a successful career in Financial Services and eventually became the Managing Partner of GL Capital. He partnered with Wayne Logue in 1998 when the firm was a part of American Express financial advisors, which eventually merged into Ameriprise Financial. In February of 2021, he went independent founding GL Capital with Charles Schwab as custodian and Triad-Hybrid Solutions as Broker Dealer.
As Founding Partner, Matt was deeply committed to his clients and highly valued the relationships he built with them. He had a caring and personal leadership and management style that inspired and motivated his colleagues to achieve success. He truly cared about the personal lives of his team and encouraged a work-life balance by allowing flexibility.
In addition to his career, Matt was passionate about helping others and giving back to the community. In 2017, he co-founded the Sherman Foundation in memory of his beloved brother and best friend, Shane Granite, to help those struggling with addiction and PTSD. Through the Sherman Foundation, Matt was able to support others by running bi-weekly support groups and providing financial wellness education to those in need.
Outside of work, Matt enjoyed playing golf and attending Penn State and Flyers games with his friends. He loved snowboarding, practicing yoga, hiking and camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway, spending time in Ocean City and Assateague in Maryland, listening to music, attending concerts, playing singing bowls, and spending time in nature, especially in the mountains. He adored sunrises and sunsets.
Matt's kind and humble spirit, along with his passion for life and the love he put out into the world, will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on through the impact he had on his clients, colleagues, and community.
Wayne Logue
Retired Founding Partner
Wayne Logue has been on a remarkable journey marked by professional excellence and a client-first mentality. A proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
He swiftly climbed the ranks to become District Manager for Wendy's in the company's early years, opening over 30 stores across Pennsylvania and laying the foundation for his future success. In 1982, Wayne transitioned into the financial services industry, joining IDS Financial Services as a Financial Advisor. His commitment to excellence and client satisfaction led to the attainment of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1988 until 2024, becoming the cornerstone of his 42-year career. Notably, Wayne's managerial prowess earned him the role of District Manager for IDS, now Ameriprise Financial. His leadership took a collaborative turn in the late 1990s when he partnered with Matthew Granite. Together, they founded Granite, Logue, & Associates under Ameriprise in 2016, later transitioning to independence with GL Capital in February 2021.Throughout his career, Wayne Logue maintained a win- win mentality, a principle deeply ingrained in his practice today. His commitment to client well-being made him a trusted figure in the financial industry.
Beyond business, Wayne finds joy in golfing, hunting, and cherishing moments with his family – two daughters and six grandchildren. At his Marysville home, Wayne delights in feeding his "pet" deer. As Wayne continues his transition into retirement in 2024, he eagerly anticipates more cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee, Sudoku puzzles, and rounds of golf with clients. Although stepping back from day-to-day operations, Wayne remains committed to his clients and plans to actively participate in the practice for many more years to come.
